George Kent Performance Hall Directions, Parking, Accessibility
The George Kent Performance Hall
119 High Street
Westerly, RI 02891
The George Kent Performance Hall is accessible.
For patrons coming to Kent Hall, please note there is an accessible lift located at the foot of the bell tower at the front of building on the south side off of High Street (the non-Bess Eaton side). This particular lift can go from the basement/office level, to street level, to the main lobby performance hall level. Please note, due to the structure of the building, it does NOT go to the balcony level. Before, during, and just after events, this lift is staffed to help patrons in and out of the building. During non-event, but open hall times, a staff member can assist with this lift. If the door is secured, please call 401.596.8663 and we will immediately send a staff member to assist. Additionally, on the Bess Eaton side of Kent Hall, on the front side, there is an accessible seated chair lift that can bring patrons from street level/parking lot to the performance hall level. Towards, the back of the hall, the office wing can also be accessed on a flat surface from Jay Street.
Kent Hall is equipped with accessible restrooms on the lower level (rehearsal room, basement, and office level) and the main performance hall level.
Though it is not required, if you are coming to Kent Hall for an event and will require assistance entering the facility or need to use one of our lifts - so that we can better help you and be looking for you - we ask you let us know by calling 401.596.8663 or email us at info@chorusofwesterly.org as far in advance as possible.
There are 3-4 accessible parking spaces immediately next to Kent Hall for events, but these tend to fill up quickly. Patrons may be dropped off in front of the hall (you cannot park here) and our staff and usher team will be present. If needed, they can help anyone enter the hall or find the appropriate lift.

The George Kent Performance Hall ('Kent Hall') is located at 119 High Street, Westerly, RI.
Our building is a former church building (so it looks like a church!). It is yellow with a bell tower in front on the right as you are facing it. Our neighbor to the north - at the intersection of Railroad Avenue, Oak Street, and High Street (Route 3) is Bess Eaton.
Parking lot – There is a parking lot between Bess Eaton and Kent Hall. Bess Eaton is the owner of this parking lot but allows our patrons to park in it for rehearsals and events as long as you are not blocking the entrance or exit to their two drive-thru driveways, their dumpster, or blocking the flow of traffic through the lot. There are 18 regular parking spots in this lot, 5 of which are alongside Kent Hall. On an event day, 3-4 of these spots alongside Kent Hall are reserved as handicap/accessible parking spots. Be advised that these spots fill up quickly on an event weekend.
In this parking lot do not at any time double park anywhere, do not park in either drive-thru lanes (even when Bess Eaton is closed), do not park in front of the fence around the dumpster area, and do not park in any spot (even standing) that blocks the flow of traffic through the lot. Do not park - at any time – in the parking spots in front of the store (this is reserved for Bess Eaton patrons).
Places you can park:
There is ample street parking available (unless there is a sign that says 'no parking' or 'no parking from here to corner' or blocks a driveway) on Oak Street, on Railroad Avenue, on Narragansett Avenue, on Newton Avenue, and on portions of Spruce Street. Our of respect for our neighbors, please do not park on Jay Street.
After 12 pm on Saturdays, all day on Sundays, and after 5 pm on weekdays
- You may park in the large Riverhead Building Supply parking lot off Oak Street.
- As long as there are no services, calling hours, or funeral related activity taking place (and if the lot chain is down), you may also park in the large Gaffney Dolan Funeral Home lots located at 59 Spruce Street.
